JOB SUMMARY:
This is a SQL Server database expert role for an individual who can work comfortably performing support work as an individual or as a team member. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks in a fast pace environment and works under general guidance. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail, accuracy and communication back to the department manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programs and supports internal applications across the enterprise. Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment. Knows when to exhibit leadership abilities and when to be a team player.
Good organization, time management and multitasking skills are a must. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with a variety of cross-functional groups. Ability to take direction, work independently and in a team environment. Must be self motivated, take initiatives and deals well in stressful situations.
Must be an action orientated person who determines root causes to problems and suggests solutions. Analyzes and interprets business requirements and evaluates alternative IT approaches. Provides technical support and training to assist users and other IT employees. Provides rotating “on call” services and responds to problem resolution opportunities that arise.
Work in a team environment to provide Database and application design, development, testing, training implementation, and system maintenance to support various commercial and custom applications that utilize SQL Server databases.
Work with the IT Technical group to maintain the data warehouse, database stability, performance and security and implement disaster recovery, business continuity, backup and archiving strategies.
Monitor system details within all databases, including stored procedures their execution time and implement efficiency improvements.
Provide guidance to the IT management staff as well as non-IT business unit managers to resolve technology problems. Identify where technical change is required and what changes are most appropriate to solve business issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Proven project management experience.
-Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
-5 years experience with data modeling, staging, data warehouse design and support.
-Familiarity with the Dynamics Navision ERP system and corresponding database structures and integrated Navision applications (ie: WMS, Asset Guardian).
-Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2005/2008 with regard to T-SQL, SSIS & SSRS, architecture, administration and security within server, intranet and extranet environments.
-Experience should include writing queries, triggers and stored procedures and an understanding of ODBC.
-A minimum of 2 years experience of (BI) reporting analysis tools, like Qlikview, Cognos or similar.
-Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
-Current experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS ALSO DESIRED:
-Working in a manufacturing environment supporting a MES
-Data warehousing and OLAP using QlikView
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering with relevant specialized training and 5 years applicable experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-Sit for long periods working in front of a computer screen typing
-Travel to other areas of the facility including climbing stairs
-Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
